CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

 All presenters' abstracts and bio-data will be included in the conference program booklet. Full paper submission is optional.
The proceedings (with an ISBN number) will be published separately. If you wish your full paper of the presentation to be published in the conference proceedings (with an ISBN number), please follow these general guidelines:
  • Past Publications: Click here to read The Proceedings of the 7th OpenTESOL International Conference 2019.
  • Deadline of full paper submission: 15 March 2020 (Extended to 31 March)
  • Fees: The fee for full paper publication is 500,000VND (for Vietnamese authors) or 30USD (for international authors). Please do not make any payment until your paper has been successfully reviewed and confirmed for publication from OpenTESOL editors. The early bird conference fees will apply to all presenters who full papers have been accepted for publication.
  • ​Template: Please use the attached template to format your paper. Click 'Download Proceedings Templates'.
  • Peer review policy and revisions: Only full papers that follow the template and provide revisions according to OpenTESOL editors and reviewers’ suggestions will be accepted for publication.
  • Plagiarism: Make sure your submission has been checked for plagiarism.  

THE FULL PAPER SUBMISSION SYSTEM
STAGE 1: REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION

The full paper submission system is different from the abstract submission system.

1 Past authors: You should be familiar with the system if you were an author in the 2019 OpenTESOL conference. Use your previous username and password to log-in to the submission system. Click 'Log in' to begin. If you don't remember the log-in information, click 'Forget my password' and the system will send you information about how to reset your password to your email. 

2 New authors: If you are a new author, click 'Register' on the top right corner and complete the registration form to create a new account.

Once you're logged in, click on your user name, choose 'Dashboard' and then 'New Submission'

Step 1: Start. Choose the appropriate Section.

Step 2a: Upload Submission. Authors are required to upload 2 separate documents:
Document 1: Choose Article Text (No full names. No institutions. No email address.) and Upload the document.

Step 2b: After uploading the 'Article Text', click 'Add Another File' to upload Document 2: Author's Biodata (approx. 80 words in paragraph format with author's full name, institution, email address, research interests and/or relevant research publication/experience)

Step 2b: Choose 'Author's Biodata' in the Article Component and click 'Upload File'

Step 3: Enter Metadata. Insert Title, Abstract, and Keywords.
To add co-authors, click 'Add Contributor' at the bottom right corner. 

Step 4: Confirmation. Click 'Finish Submission' to confirm your submission.

 Step 5: Authors have successfully submitted the two documents (Article Text and Authors' Biodata). A notification email has been sent to your email account. 

THE FULL PAPER SUBMISSION SYSTEM
STAGE 2: AUTHORS' REVISIONS AND RESPONSES TO REVIEWERS AND EDITORS

Step 1: Once logged in the Submission System, authors will see the notification:  'Revisions have been requested'.
​Click on the article. Please do not click 'New Submission'!

Step 2: Click and download the Reviewer's Attachments

Step 3: Read, revise and then upload 2 files: The revised paper with changes highlighted in yellow (Choose Article Text). After upload the article text, click 'Add another file' to upload the Responses to Reviewers' (Choose Author's Responses to Reviewers' Comments).
