THE CONFERENCE PROGRAM IS NOW AVAILABLE
Dear Friends of OpenTESOL,
We are in a difficult time: The Covid-19 pandemic is here to stay. Many of our colleagues and students worldwide are dealing with a disastrous Covid wave. You are having our prayers and support.
Amid the crisis, we are committed to sustaining teacher learning and invite you to join our virtual 2021 conference. Whether you are a student, a parent, a teacher, a lecturer, a researcher, a coordinator, a manager, a material developer, a curriculum specialist, or a professional who is interested in second language education, you are welcomed to participate in our 9th OpenTESOL International Conference under the theme of 'Language Education in Challenging Times: Designing Digital Transformations', tapping into learner resilience, agency and engagement on 21-22 May 2021.
This year, we are honored to receive sponsorship from Regional English Language Office - U.S. Embassy Hanoi, Oxford University Press, Ho Chi Minh City TESOL Association, HorizonTESOL, Dai Truong Phat Education, and Macmillan Education Vietnam. We are also indebted to the local and international presenters' and reviewers' efforts and eagerness to share.
Without their giving, we will not be able to make this event happen.
We are calling for your participation, and believe that your virtual or on-site attendance in our annual May conference will be meaningful for your critical learning.
All the best,
The OpenTESOL Organizing Committee

PARTICIPATION MODES
As OpenTESOL 2021 is a hybrid conference, there are two modes of participation:
- Virtual participation: This mode best suits distant participants who will attend OpenTESOL 2021 by attending live Zoom sessions and viewing pre-recorded video presentations on YouTube. The participants are encouraged to interact with the speakers via responding to the presenters' prompts in the chat box or YouTube's comment section. Most sessions are virtual. E-certificates will be emailed to participants who complete a post-conference feedback form and attend at least two keynote/featured sessions, two Zoom live sessions and view two YouTube recorded presentations.
- On-site participation: At Ho Chi Minh City Open University, participants will attend the events in person, who can benefit from the face-to-face networking opportunities with the presenters. Print certificates will be given to on-site participants. We might remove this participation mode depending on the Covid-19 situations. We will closely follow Covid-19 guidelines issued by the local authority, and right now the on-site participation is still possible. On-site participants can switch to virtual participation because of social distancing measures.
