PRESENTER GUIDELINES
OpenTESOL 2022 is a virtual conference, three will be two modes of presentations:
- Live presenter via Zoom video conferencing system: The mode is delivered synchronously and attracts a greater audience rate of participation. All sessions are on Saturday, 28 May 2022.
- Pre-recorded presenter: The presenter will create and upload your presentation to YouTube. This mode encourages viewers' self-paced learning and asynchronous communications in the YouTube's comment section. MORE TIPS FROM PAST PRESENTERS
OpenTESOL asked the past presenters, What strategies and techniques would you employ to better engage the participants in your presentation?
Here are past presenters' selected reflections:
Keynote/featured Presenters
Great question. Less content. More opportunities for interaction during the presentation and Q&A at the end.
Zoom Live Presenters
Add quiz and questions during presenting.
I think I should speak louder and have more pictures to illustrate for my presentation.
The selected topics, clear information and practicality of the research.
We give more Findings that other researchers didn't mention.
Follow-up questions and discussion would be a good choice to engage participants in the future.
I will try to make sure that my internet connection is better in my session and future online presentations.
YouTube Presenters
Learn how to speak more energetically.
I would try to do a more interesting video, better sound and video quality, and better the content.
I will have to make my presentation brief and clear enough to listen and convey the contents that I would like to mention.
I think I will try my best to be more natural in my presentation and share more experience in ELT.
I should be more time sensitive and control the length with highlighted contents.
If I can learn who will be participants, I think I can prepare for a presentation better.
