The Organizing Committee of the 8th OpenTESOL International Conference 2020 invites participants to submit an abstract for the 2020 conference.
For the past 7 years, the OpenTESOL conference has become a meaningful community for teachers, researchers, students and professionals in the field of second language education, sharing research findings and classroom practices.
In that spirit, we hope that the 2020 conference will continue to be a milestone for all participants' continuous professional development.

Speakers' Abstract Guidelines
Call for Papers Deadline: 5 January, 2020
Abstracts should be written in English and between 150-200 words. The abstract must convey the topic's importance and relevance to the conference theme. Acceptance notification will be sent as soon as review process is over.
Abstract:
All proposals will be peer reviewed based on the following criteria:

1. Create an account to begin the submission process: Choose 'Log in' and 'Not a user? Create an account with this site' and fill in all the information. The Bio statement should be about 80 words including your job position, institution, country, skills taught, research research interests and experiences (if applicable).
2. Make sure you tick the Create Account as Reader and Author boxes [See picture below]
3. From the User Home tab, click New Submission to input details of your abstracts.
4. An acknowledgement email will be sent to your mail box.

- Title: no more than 15 words and use Title case (the first letter of each word is capitalized, except for small words)
- Body: between 150 and 200 words.
- Bio statement: approx. 80 words including your job position, institution, country, skills taught, research research interests and experiences (if applicable)
- Research-based presentations: 25 minutes
- Practice-based presentations: 25 minutes
- Poster presentations: 25 minutes
- Virtual presentations: 25 minutes
- PechaKucha presentations: 6 minutes and 40 seconds

Presentation Awards
OpenTESOL 2020 is pleased to award up to 6 engaging, informative and thought-provoking parallel session and poster presenters at the end of the main conference day. Each award consists of:
- A certificate of recognition from the Academic Advisory Board
- Free registration of the 9th OpenTESOL International Conference 2021
- Graded readers from well-known publishers

Conference Proceedings
After the presenters are informed of their accepted abstracts, they can prepare and submit the full papers for consideration in the conference proceedings by 15 March 2020. The full paper must be between 2,500 and 3,500 words (excluding the title, references, and appendices). More details regarding the conference proceedings procedure will be published soon.
